In Dimensions log in and search for the article check the box to the left of the title and save as a Favourite. The search will run once a week and return content if there has been a change. Dimensions will display both the citations received by an article and the attention captured by Altmetric Explorer database

To follow an author in Dimensions search for them under the Researcher filter. Save the profile results as a Favorite. 
The Dimensions database is a good option for this type of Alert because it includes both subscription and open access publications, bibliometrics and altmetrics. 

Expand 'Researcher' by clicking on it:

Click 'More' to open search box:

Type Researcher's name, hover over Researcher's name and click 'Limit to' to select:

Click 'Save/Export', then 'Save as favorite':

Name your favorite, check 'Publications' and Save.
