Referencing

Referencing styles are instructions explaining how to reference the sources you use. There are many different styles but it is important to:

  • choose one
  • be consistent

Each style has an official “style manual". For these please see our Referencing and citing: styles guide.

Consult your course outline to check for a preferred style or contact your lecturer. Student Learning Support Services also provides helpful academic writing tips and hints.
