Organise
Find ways to organise information to help your study in the long run. Saving searches is a great example of this. You can keep track of important books or articles you find and easily access them later. Log into Te Waharoa and check your profile to see your saved searches, and the items you have requested or currently have on loan.
Correctly referencing your sources is an important part of scholarly work. Check with your faculty to find out which referencing style you should use.
Reference management software helps keep track of your citations, and inserting them into your work. It is especially useful at the postgraduate level and above. The Library supports Endnote, Mendeley, Zotero and RefWorks. Check our Referencing and Citing guide for more information or contact your Subject Librarian for help.
Managing your time effectively is a key part of being successful in academic study and research. The Study smarter page from Student Learning shows how to manage your time, take notes, set up study groups and pass your exams.
